Well peace comes to those who are ready to force it using weapons. Not to those who commit themselves to using only negotiations.
Anyway, Being an American president, is a liability in most of middle east and Mohammadan world even if you happen to born to Mohammadan dad. Iran has been dead end to many superpowers. Alexander was poisoned there, and US had her hundreds of citizens murdered when islamic revolution took hold (thanks in part to BBC).
And Iran itself is a wounded civilization locked in a death-embrace by Islam. This is one of the reason why Iran is always at civilization war with Arabs and Sunnis and Bahai's.
Seems like Darwin's evolution does not favour Iran. But the last thing that can happen on its read to extinction is any intervention with a bankrupt USA.
